The President [Calvin Coolidge] has wisely chosen for his 1928 summer vacation the 4,000 acre Pierce Estate on the Brule between Ashland and Superior, Wisconsin. Cedar Island Lodge, the summer White House and main residence picturesquely situated amid whispering pines, many of virgin growth, with a fine trout stream at the very door. This estate is valued at over a million dollars.
