Thomas Goodspeed is the father of Edgar Goodspeed. The two were owners of Paradise (late Goodspeed) Island in Plum Lake. The Finding Aid biography includes the following: "Goodspeed was full of energy and vigor even as he aged. He continued cultivating his rustic home [on Paradise Island] in the Wisconsin woods every summer and researching in conjunction."
