We don't know the exact years that my parents Ted and Alice Shrake rented the Old Schoolhouse in the summers, but we believe it was the 1930s, 1940s and early 1950s. I do know that the Frederickson sisters baby sat my twin sister Ruth Ann and myself while my parents fished in Star Lake during the 1940s.

Our older brothers who were at the Old Schoolhouse in the 1930s with my parents were Ted and Fred Shrake (twins), Don Shrake, and Bob Shrake. So the whole family consisted of:

Thaddeus J. (Ted) Shrake, Trainman on the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha (1899-1988) Alice M. Bradley Shrake, Daughter of the American Revolution (1902-1981) Addison (Ted) Shrake, combat veteran of World War II, U.S. Marine Corps (1923-2009) Fred Shrake, combat veteran of World War II, U.S. Army (1923-1990) Don Shrake, veteran of World War II, U.S. Army Air Corps (1924-1993) Bob Shrake, veteran after World War II, U.S. Navy (1928-2001) Suanne Shrake Pearson, resident of San Diego, CA and Three Lakes, WI (born 1939) Ruth Ann Shrake Repsumer, resident of Boise, ID and Scandia, MN (born 1939).

I would appreciate it if you would add this information to the website starlake.org. We have also talked to Libby Scott this summer. Thank you.
