Text

Four of the northern Wisconsin counties have organized local boards of immigration to act in connection with the state board in securing settlers for the thousands of acres of vacant lands. It has been thoroughtly demonstrated that the soil in this section is especially adapted to tillage, and the land can be had almost for the asking. It is to be hoped that the immigration boards will be successful in their efforts at colonizing. Northern Wisconsin needs farmers, and they cannot come any too soon.--Superior Inland Ocean.
